Nailah Ramcharan-Gibbs is a Toronto-based teaching and performing artist, known for her creativity, energy, and passion.
A graduate of York University’s Dance program, Nailah's distinctive athleticism and energetic performance quality stems from her background in opera, musical theatre, and gymnastics. Since graduating with honours in 2019, she has trained and performed with companies including VIM VIGOR, Ailey II, Helen Simoneau, and Buglisi Dance Theater. As an independent freelance dancer in Toronto, she has performed as a featured artist with Theatre Oculus, Expect Theatre, The And, Stage Company, and VIBE Arts. Her work is known for diverse interdisciplinary collaboration, sophisticated athleticism, and nuanced musicality.
Nailah is constantly searching for further learning opportunities to strengthen her skills as a teacher, performer, and choreographer. Since beginning her teaching career, Nailah has become certified with Gymnastics Ontario and Canada (NCCP Competitive Level 2 Certified in Artistic, Acrobatic, Trampoline, and Rhythmic Gymnastics), Alixa Flexibility (Module 3), and Acrobatic Arts (Module 1). She strives to deliver quality education that challenges and inspires three-dimensional growth in a sustainable, accessible, and positive way.
When not teaching or dancing, Nailah trains in contortion and acrobatics with Alixa Slobodyan of Alixa Flexibility, and is in the process of completing her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College.
