Summer Session: Intro to Contortion Training Program (Permission Only)

THIS CLASS IS NOT OPEN FOR NEW REGISTRANTS. THIS CLASS IS FULL AND IS ONLY SHOWING AS OPEN WHILE THE EXISTING DANCERS SIGN UP FOR IT THROUGH THIS NEW PLATFORM. IF YOU WERE NOT ALREADY REGISTERED IN THIS CLASS PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP.
Learn proper contortion technique, strengthen the body for contortion skills and improve flexibility in the legs, hip, shoulders and back. There will be a different focus each week: chest stands, scorpions, closed bends, contortion balances.
Skill requirements: understanding of square splits, down to bridge from standing, hold Bridge 30 seconds, handstand facing the wall 30 seconds.
You will need: wall space, yoga mat, at least 2 yoga blocks, foam roller, folding chair. This is not a Beginners course. Previous experience from acro, leg flexibility, back flexibility and handstand classes or private/group contortion training is required.
